Mr. Garza has 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He has served as Managing Director for Gunvor USA since the company’s inception in 2017, helping to lead the organization from start-up to now more than 120 employees in three locations (Houston, Stamford, Calgary, Canada). Mr. Garza joined Gunvor from Tesoro Refining & Marketing, where he was Vice President of Crude Oil & Feedstocks Strategy and Trading from 2014-2017. Previously, Mr. Garza spent more than 20 years in various financial and trading positions at BP, most recently as Crude Oil Supply & Trading Manager at BP-IST Oil Americas from 2006-2014.

He began his career Amoco Chemicals before it became BP Amoco Chemicals. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame, Mendoza College of Business, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, College of Engineering.
