Mr. Mai has been with Gunvor since 2008, and has served as COO since 2019, overseeing various strategic and operational aspects of the Group. Within his role, he serves as the Chairman of the Corporate Committee, the main decision making body regarding credit and risk, compliance, legal, budget, finance and investments. As a member of the Management Board, Mr. Mai is responsible for upholding the company’s day-to-day decision making, with the main corporate management and assets management roles reporting to him.

Mr. Mai previously served as the Chief Investment Officer. Before joining the Group, Mr. Mai worked for six years with PricewaterhouseCoopers. He holds a Masters in Economics from HEC Lausanne, is a Swiss Chartered Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst.
